Here is a little bit about me and my thoughts.

There are very few true British Columbians these days - but I am proud to say that I am one. Born in a small coastal town in the famous rain forests of British Columbia, under the sign of Pisces, I moved down to Vancouver when I was still a wee lassy of about 2.  I am particularly 'related' to my Irish dad - while my sister got our mother's dainty hands and feet and pretty blue eyes, I was stuck with my Dad's huge clappers and flippers (and some say, mouth, since I talk for a living). But I have grown into my skin and am quite comfortable there these days.

Anyway, I always felt strange and separate from others when I was young. I did not understand the feeling, nor could I have put it into words at that time, but I do remember wanting to 'go home': like this place, this 'reality' was not where I was supposed to be - that my delivery here had been some kind of mysterious mistake.

Then I discovered books. Not only could the stories 'take me away', they contained information that was otherwise unavailable to the average Joe or Josephine - in elementary school, I remember being frustrated after reading all of the books in the library...and constantly trying to outwit the teachers with the old 'book inside a book' trick. Which never worked, I might add.

When my mother introduced me to the local library, I was thrilled beyond belief - here was an entire building filled with books! The stories never seemed to end and I read wherever and whenever I could.

But it was later, as a young teenager, that my interest in the unknown, the mysterious, the odd, the unexplained and indeed, the occult, began. My focus shifted: I read every book in that rather limited library (metaphysical subjects were poorly represented back then - Nancy Drew mysteries notwithstanding) and thus began my education.

During my 'formative' years, I read about and studied astrology and the signs, palm reading, tarot reading, graphology, dream analysis, ghosts and reincarnation...every subject you can think of that fits into the realm of the odd, I covered. Some had more pull than others, but all hooked-and-sinkered me - I was a fish who had finally found her pond.

Long ago...when I was in my 20's...I received a gift from a woman I had not known. It was one of those things that forms the direction a life will take but is not recognized as such at the time. The 'gift' came from a 'white witch' (so I was told) who had passed and took the form of a tarot deck known as the Parlour Sibyl. That deck became the first one that I worked with and lead the way to learning the tarot and beginning to do readings.

Along the way, I married, had my son and spent much of my time working and devoting time to domestic pursuits...but my interest in the metaphysical never abated and one day, I dropped in to my local library on the way home and another gift fell into my hands. Quite literally! (Or so it seemed -- ever had a book, the exact one you were looking for, practically fall of the shelf and into your hands?)

This book was on the ancient form of numerology known as Chaldean: the predecessor to the current or 'modern' system that sources back to Babylonian times. Without getting into a lot of detail, this system looks at the letters in your name and where they began as symbols and what their vibrational equal is...therefore, what energy you carry, project and respond to as well as what educational energy you were born into, or, what lesson in particular you are here to learn. Needless to say, this information, still rare today, held my interest for years to come and culminated when a friend asked me if I could possibly do a reading for her on her name...well, I was speechless, but only for a second. (If you are interested, I do offer readings of this type via email - check TAROT AND CHALDEAN REPORTS on the menu bar.)

(A little note: that 'O' under row 1? That's a 'Q'. The real 'O' is under row 7).

And so began  my long association with Chaldean numerology - in addition to reading the Tarot, I have also prepared Name Analysis Reports based on this ancient science for over 20 years and consider myself (if I may say so) a professional practioner of both modalities.

I have also written a book on Chaldean or Mystic numerology ('Babylon's Secret -- The Truth About Your Name'), been interviewed on podcast (Mona Magick) and write for the online magazine Ezine Articles, so if you would like to know more about numerology or other subjects, these are some avenues available.

I guess I forgot to introduce myself - I am Heather Lagan and I love Jamie, cats, anything with fringes, black (surprise?), silver (better?), old cars (70's), old music (ditto), graveyards, heritage houses, rice crispie squares, lobster and the odd cupcake as well as a whole bunch of other stuff I can't remember right now.

I truly believe what I preach - that everything is happening exactly as it should - there are no mistakes. Everyone comes into this plane of existence with a lifepath and this world is a giant classrooom in which we are both student and teacher to one another. I know there is a cosmic consciousness, or Universal energy: I have seen it work in my life and others too many times to dismiss...it is just a fact.

I am connected to that source, just as you are and becoming aware and grateful for that connection takes our journey into another dimension, where nothing is mundane: everything changes. Symbols become too obvious to ignore and synchronicity dominates. The Law of Attraction, or rather, the thoughts that we think become our circumstances and the circumstances reflect our willingness - or lack of willingness - to look at and deal with the lessons put before us.

It is only when we have dealt with our baggage that we can truly attract positive things for ourselves: how could anyone even know what it is they truly want if their wish is coming from a place of distrust or damage or abuse? They can't. So lessons must be learned before the dream can be born. It just requires a little commitment, a little work, a little emotional openness and a little faith. A lot of littles can make a big difference.

There are negatives in every positive and positives in every negative. That is one thing most of us forget to look for when things get rough - and they do get rough! Look for the positive and you will find it! but what I am trying to say is that while some might call me a 'pollyanna' - I am not, but I do always try to find the good point in anything negative...which is sometimes a bit of a stretch! But it is later, when the 'reason' for certain things happening is made clear, that I really understand that there is more to this life than we can see -- and sometimes we need to do more than just listen to our intuition: sometimes we need to take action; take risks and trust that jumping off a cliff (like the fool in the Tarot) won't flatten you.

One thing I will never lose is my belief that everything happens for a reason and that 'things' are exactly as they should be...so I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

And so are you. And if you, by chance, don't like where you are, take a risk. Jump off the cliff. God will catch you.

And so the journey continues...maybe we'll meet along the way!

Hugs from Heather
